 In the task of developing his powers, Kage Houshi manipulates Recca's friends, to fight him. She hypnotizes Fuuko and gives her the fuujin to whip Recca from pillar to post. Kage Houshi also convinces Tokiya that Recca had been involved in the murder of his sister MIfuyu. Until Recca proves otherwise by beating Tokiya the second time they encountered.  A blast from the past occurs in the following storyline, as Kage Houshi invites the Hokage Ninjas to her house. She tells Recca of his true identity and his story with Kurei and all that. Recca rejects this initally and turns his back on Kage Houshi, whom he finds out to be his real mother. When one of the Three Idiots captures Kage Houshi/Kagero, Recca rescues his mother, and with this finally accepts his life. He also finds out that Shigeo Hanabishi, a firecracker maker who raised him as his own son, was actually single. The mother Recca thought was his real one, i.e, Shigeo's supposed deceased wife, was actually a movie star.  During registation day, it was made clear to Recca and company that they had to put a stake for the tournament. Yanagi had become their bet, though the Hokage Team was not too happy about this. On the opening round against the Kuu Team, Recca defeats Saicho and his Shikigami. He also wins their leader Kukkai. However, he becomes friends with the Kuu and its members, and they supported the Hokage Team all the way. From the Uruha Maboroshi, Recca faces Menou Sakura, a pretty girl who was forced by Genjuroh to fight. Genjuroh had imprisoned her father in an hourglass and in return for his freedom, a madougu was implanted in Menou that would control her hair. Recca destroys Genjuroh's mugen and frees Menou's father. In an agreement done before the match, Genjourh promises to release Menou from the implanted madogou, which he honors later on.  He battles Kashumaru in the quarterfinals against Uruha Ma. This opponent of Recca imitated his dragons. Of course we know how Recca creamed him. The Recca, while trying to find Fuuko (who gets sent to the Great Nowhere by Magensha) finds that his beloved hime Yanagi was about to be abducted by Magensha. He uses all his might against this giant, utilizing the combo dragon technique. He rescues Yanagi and with the help of Kaoru and Saicho breaks the mask of Magensha. In the final bout of the Urabutousatsoujin, Recca faces his half-brother Kurei, who has been tracking him down since childhood to eliminate him. It is in this match (*tears trickle down my face*) which kind of gets emotional, as brother turns against brother. Both Flame Masters unleash their ultimate power and give the other one the beating of a lifetime. On watch during this match is Recca's eighth dragon, Reisshin/Obeshi, who happens to be the soul of their common biologic father Ohka. He remains neutral in the battle between his sons. It is also during this match that Kurei realizes, thanks to Recca, his mistake in blaming all his misfortunes to his younger bro. Kurei, realizing this, turns against his foster father Mori Kouran. Mori Kouran then unleashes a Kurei clone that went against the brothers. Kurei and Recca then combine forces to beat this evil clone. Recca wins the final bout of the Urabutousatsoujin and his hime is saved from being Mori Kouran's guinea pig. This is the point where the anime tapers off. The manga continues up to volume 28, presently ongoing, where Recca and troop fight Mori Kouran and his new minions The Ura Uruha. This is also where he comes face to face with the dangerous Tendo Jigoku, the ultimate madugou of all madugous.  Nadare... one of the first flame dragon that Recca tames. She comes in the form of multiple fire balls. One of the nicer flame dragons, if not the nicest. She kinda looks like Tokiya in human form. Saiha...he comes in the form of a blade that cuts through anything and everything. One of Recca's favorite attack weapons. His human form is that of a spiky-haired scarred man. Homura...his flames are crooked, so they attack like a whip. He also enhances one's strength.He comes in the form of a bald man with a crooked nose. Beak-like is more like it *.*. Madoka...a fire dragon which protects rather than attacks. He forms an impenetrable shield. Known as the master of the impenetrable kekkai (shields). Saved Neon's hide from being an ice popsicle. He's big, fat, bald man with a perpetual genki expression on his face. Is also aloof and arrogant (as most of the other dragons are). Setsuna...the meanest, cruelest, most arrogant, dragon of them all. He's got an attitude problem and the Hokage Ninjas aren't too fond of him. They rejected him even when he still walked the earth. Doesn't like being oggled, so he kills anyone foolish enough to look into his eyes. Poor Genjuroh stole him and gets fried. He's my favorite dragon, actually. Why? Because he's so, so mean ^_^! He's deformed. Looksa heckuva lot like Yusuke's (YYH) dad Raizen. With wild, long hair, a string of eyeballs and scissors for hands. He's actually blind. Rui...the dragon babe. She creates illusions using flames. Few people know what she really looks like because she's always changing forms. Helps Recca only if he can answer her riddles. Always in a robe with her uhm, mammaries threatening to show up any minute. Think Jennifer Lopez. Has a cool rose tattoo on her left side of the chest. Kokuu...the old man in the horrendous glasses and shorts. He kinda looks like one of those characters in Dragonball Z (the name escapes me though). He apppears the night prior to the final bout of the Urabutousatsoujin and gives the Hokages tips on their respective matches. He also trains Recca how to use the dragon combo technique, and convinces Recca to fight his dragons first to totally tame them. He's also a madougu maker. Is a pervert in the tradition of Happosai, and loves harassing pretty females, especially Fuuko-sama! Resshin...the last of the dragons who also happens to be the spirit of Ohka, Recca and Kurei's biological father. Althought in the local dub, Recca calls him Obeshi. Anyone out there with an idea what it means? Whew! I think that's enough for Recca. I've told nearly the enitre series on his profile alone *_*;;;.
