Hanabishi Recca yawned. He got dressed and went downstairs to have breakfast. As always, Sakoshita Yanagi was making breakfast, Koganei Kaoru was using the Dreamcast, Mikagami Tokiya was reading a book, Ishijima Domon was pestering Kirisawa Fuuko as she was playing with Morikawa Ganko.

He smiled at the Hokage Clan. It was already one year since the Urabutou Satsujin [UBS] Tournament and their victory against Kurei’s Uruha Clan. Even though they were enemies, he still wondered how they were doing.

“Ok! Breakfast’s ready! Pancakes today!” shouted Yanagi.

Everyone gathered around the dinner table and began to eat. “Itadakimasu!” shouted everyone except Tokiya. When they finished, the girls helped each other clean up. The boys went to the living room and started to chat except for Tokiya [again!] who went out. Everyone wondered where he was going as he hardly goes out this early.

Tokiya had actually went out to meet someone. A someone who had sent him a note and asked him to go to the school pond that day at 11am. Of all places why must it be the pond?  Tokiya wondered as it was so far from the school entrance. As he walked, he didn’t notice a distant figure watching his every move.

He arrived and saw no one there. Then he felt something…or rather someone behind him move. Instead of being in his usual ready to defend position with the ensui in his hand, he merely said,” You’re late.”  And he turned around.

Expecting a boy of his age, he found himself face-to-face with a girl no older than himself. She was holding hyoumaen, the twin of ensui, only that it was in a different form which was similar to that of the ensui. “That’s Kai’s madougu…” he said, surprised, “What’s it doing with you?”  The girl merely smiled. She raised hyoumaen and it formed a crystal blade of water.

The girl had black hair and a nice figure, Tokiya noticed. She also resembled Mifuyu, even more than Yanagi. If she had her hair colored brown, then he would’ve mistaken her for his sister. But soon he jolted out of his thoughts and listened to her answer.

“Funny you should mention Kai. You defeated him in the Urabutou Satsujin Tournament right? Of course! The great Tokiya defeated Kai, who turns out to be my brother!” she said, holding up the madougu, "Luckily, he taught me Hyomon Ken before he went off with Kurei. I trained hard after that, hoping to show him what I’ve obtained. But all I got was news that he died. Seemingly, they all said that he committed suicide. But he wouldn’t if you didn’t push him to!!!”

With that, she raised her hyoumaen and attacked Tokiya, not giving him time to raise his own ensui in defense. Tokiya quickly dodged that attack and took out his ensui. He summoned water from the pond and raised his madougu.

“Come on! Attack me! I would like to see how good the great Mikagami is!” she cried out. He remembered that he’d never attack a girl so he just defended all her attacks. Then she shouted, “Why aren’t you attacking me? Still obeying your sister?” This really pissed Tokiya off. He raised his ensui, preparing to use bubble snake. Then a flame shot out from nowhere.

Recca, what’s he doing here? Tokiya saw the familiar face of his comrade.

“What do you think you’re doing?”

Tokiya thought of doing something to intervene but realized that Recca was holding onto the girl’s arms and questioning her instead. The hyoumaen fell to the ground and the blade vanished, leaving a pool of water. “Let go of me! Let go!” she struggled.

“Let go of her, Recca!” Tokiya said.

“Huh?!” a puzzled look appeared on his face, “She was about to kill you!” he shouted.

“Just let her go.” Reluctantly, Recca did Tokiya’s bidding.

The girl neither tried to run nor did she try to attack again. After a moment of silence, she asked,” well aren’t you going to kill me?”

Mikagami just shrugged and said,” No, but I want to know who you are and why you are here. Don’t bother about the killing me part…”

She explained that she was Kai’s sister and that she was here to avenge him. After awhile of explanation, they found out her name was Reiko and that she was offered a place in Uruha Jusshin before but Kai had advised her not to join as it’ll be dangerous.

Later that day, she asked them why didn’t they want to kill her. “Because I know how exactly you feel and you won’t feel any better avenging your love ones…” Tokiya answered. Then he and Recca walked off.

“Wait, can I come with you?” Reiko asked as she ran behind them.

“Why?” They asked suspiciously, in case she’d assassinate them again. “Cause I want to join the famous Hokage!”

“You can’t just join like that just because you want to!”

“Let me show you my skills first! Then you decide!”

“But…its still not possible!”

After arguing for 10 minutes, they reluctantly let her in.

“Sugoi! Arigatou Hanabishi-senpai and Mikagami-senpai!” she shouted gleefully and tagged along behind them as they walked back to their newly acquired mansion whom Yanagi’s parents had donated.
