“ Kaoru! You’re back!” Hiroya exclaimed.

The girls and Hiroya crowded around Kaoru.

“ You are back! Kaoru! Where were you the past 2 weeks? We were all worried about you!” Hiroya said. The girls all nodded in agreement.

Kaoru just smiled and said, “ Oh-h-h! It’s a secret!” Then, he sweat-dropped. He smiled at the people around him.

“ Come on, Kaoru~~! Surely you can trust us!” one of the girls said Hiroya and the others nodded furiously.

“ But…. I can’t!” And then he ran off with the others chasing after him.

Kaoru thought happily, “ I love school life!”

After a few days, Kaoru was playing around with Hiroya after school, Hiroya was throwing punches at Kaoru missed every single time.

“Hey Kaoru! Please, let's take a break. I am so tired!” Hiroya stopped and panted.

“Tired so quickly? Come on, Hiroya!” Kaoru chucked and beckoned Hiroya to attack him again.

“Kaoru, who are you? Why are you so powerful?” Hiroya joked.

Kaoru’s face immediately became serious. “Hiroya, please don’t ask me that
again.”

Hiroya laughed at his serious face. “I was just joking, Kaoru. Why are you
so serious about it?”

Kaoru smiled and said,” Come, Hiroya! Break is over.”

Kaoru went home happily, whistling his favourite tune. That night, over at the Hanabishi residence, everyone was there for dinner. After dinner,everyone was watching television while Kaoru was doing his homework. Kaoru had some problems with his maths and he walked to Tokiya and asked, “Brother Tokiya, can you teach me this question? This is so hard. My brain just can’t click.”

Tokiya Mikagami said turned to look t Kaoru and replied, “ Oh, why are you so troublesome?”  [Please do not be offended, Kaoru fans! It’s just Mi-chan’s icy attitude.]

Yanagi saw it and said, “ Tokiya, you can teach Kaoru, right? You are the cleverest among all of us.”

Tokiya sighed and said, “Come, Kogenai.”  He stood up and led Kaoru away from the noisy group. “See? You just take x multiply by 28 and add it to 36 and then subtract 48x and bring y over. That’s all,” he showed Kaoru the workings as he explained to him.

“ Oh! I see it now!” Kaoru exclaimed.

Tokiya nodded and went back to his seat in front of the television, leaving Kaoru to his homework. Kaoru smiled happily to himself. He was glad to have such good friends. Then he lowered his head to finish his homework.
 

“ Phew!” Hiroya said. “I am glad that school is over.”

Kaoru nodded in agreement. “Me too!”

Hiroya said, “ You know, you are like the upper-class students. You know, Recca Hanabishi the weird ninja, Yanagi his hime, Fuuko Kirisawa the tomboy,Tokiya Mikagami the Ice-boy and Devil Domon (NO offense!)! You are so
powerful!”

Kaoru smiled a smile that made Hiroya feel strange. He said, “Enough of this ‘I’m so powerful’ crap! Let’s exercise!”

They arrived at the park and Hiroya began to attack. As always, Hiroya could never land a punch on Kaoru. Suddenly, behind Hiroya, a boy appeared with a group of tough blokes with him.

“ Hiroya! Be careful!” Kaoru yelled as one of the men ran forward to punch Hiroya. Kaoru immediately pulled Hiroya to safety.

“ What the heck?!” Hiroya exclaimed, shocked.

Kaoru frowned as he watched the leader of the group the boy grinned cruelly.

“Yokishiga!” Hiroya whispered hoarsely.

“ Who?” Kaoru asked.

“He, Yokishiga. He was a guy who challenged me and whom I defeated after a fierce battle,” Hiroya explained.

Kaoru frowned again and then told Hiroya, “ Stay here.”

“Wait! Kaoru!” Hiroya yelled after him. “ Be careful….” he added softly.

Kaoru walked towards the group and stopped about 5 meters away from the group. “I, Kaoru Kogenai, hereby decide to fight all of you on the behalf of my friend and your enemy, Sano Hiroya.”

The boy smiled evilly and commanded 2 of the men, “Go and attack that kid!”

The men attacked with punches.

Kaoru yawned and took out his Elemental Blade. “ Look carefully!” he said. He changed the Fork to Crescent and defeated the men in just 1 second.

Yokishiga was furious and summoned the rest of the men to attack too. Kaoru fist used the Crescent to defeat some of them and he used the Fork to injure the others. While he was fighting, he was yawing all the way.

“ Oh boy! This is no fun!” he said.

At last in about 7 seconds, he defeated all 12 people.

Yokishiga was so scared without his followers and he escaped immediately.

Kaoru looked around and saw Hiroya staring at him. “Hiroya, are you okay?”

Hiroya ignored his question and asked him seriously, “Kaoru Kogenai. Who exactly are you and where do you come from? How can you defeat 12 men in just 7 seconds? And what is that golden thing in your hand?”

Kaoru sighed and said, “ I knew I am going to blow the everything one day!”

He asked Hiroya, “ Hiroya, if I tell you my secret, will you swear never to tell anyone about it and what happened today?”

Hiroya nodded and crossed his heart.

Kaoru started, “ I, Kaoru Kogenai, is an orphan whom a guy named Kurei adopted. Kurei was the adoptive son of Mori Kouran, the millionaire. I belonged to Uruha, which is a group of assassin. Then I left Uruha and joined the Hokage, which consists of Brother Recca, Sister Yanagi, Sister Fuuko, Brother Tokiya, Brother Domon.  Also, Brother Recca’s mother, Kagerou, a little girl named Ganko Morikawa who was an Uruha like myself, and Ganko’s pet, Mr. Kondo and myself.”

Then he held up his Elemental Blade and said, “ This is the Elemental Blade that is given to me by Kurei. His loyal subject, Raiha trained me with this. The Elemental Blade is a madagou which can change into 6 different forms.”

Hiroya was nodding, trying to digest the astonishing information that Kaoru had given him.

Kaoru looked at him again and pulled him along. “ Come on, Hiroya! Let’s continue our exercise!
